Rebrand, Rebuild, Reduce, and Reboot: Future Proofing Nielsen.com

BigWP NYC presentation: How media giant Nielsen streamlined its site migration with WordPress and Gutenberg.

In the best of environments, website rebrands are not entered into lightly. Platforming challenges, data migration, and securing buy-in from senior stakeholders on the business and technical sides of an organization can derail things all along the way.

In July 2021, Nielsen bit the bullet and knew it was time to undertake a massive rebrand of their global website properties, which two years earlier had migrated from Adobe CQ to WordPress VIP.

Nielsen’s lofty aims for the multi-phase, deadline-driven effort? Leverage the flexibility of WordPress core and Gutenberg blocks to improve and scale user and multilingual experiences, “clean house” on outdated content, reduce the footprint of their database, enhance content tracking, and pivot everything away from a B2C slant to a B2B focus.

Hear how they did it from Nielsen’s Katharine Olsen, who drives brand awareness for Nielsen’s global websites, and web developer Spencer McCormick as they dive into their Rebrand, Rebuild, Reduce, and Reboot: Future Proofing Nielsen.com presentation at BigWP NYC.
